Service Animals at Luxe Haus Vacation Rentals
Service Animals Are Always Welcome
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Luxe Haus permits service animals at all of our vacation rental properties. A service animal is defined by the ADA as a dog or miniature horse that is individually trained to perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability.
Guests with service animals are not charged any pet fees. However, the animal must remain under the handler’s control at all times, must be housebroken, and must not pose a threat to the health or safety of others.
During the booking process, our team may ask:
- Is this animal required because of a disability?
- What specific work or task has the animal been trained to perform?
These questions are permitted under the ADA and help us prepare your stay appropriately. We’ll also inform our operations team that a service animal will be present.
What About Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)?
We understand the value emotional support animals provide to many travelers. However, ESAs are not recognized as service animals under the ADA, and short-term vacation rentals like Luxe Haus properties are not typically covered under the Fair Housing Act (FHA) or the Utah Fair Housing Act in this context .
Therefore, emotional support animals:
- Are only permitted at pet-friendly Luxe Haus properties
- Must adhere to our standard pet policy, including approval in advance and payment of applicable pet fees
- Must meet behavior standards (e.g., no excessive barking, leash control, and fully house-trained)
Please notify us in advance if you plan to travel with an ESA. We’ll do our best to accommodate you at one of our pet-friendly homes.
Maintaining an Exceptional Stay for All
Whether you're staying with a service animal or ESA, our priority is ensuring a seamless, enjoyable stay for all guests.
To support that, all animals must:
- Be under control at all times
- Never be left unattended in the home unless safely crated
- Have proper waste cleaned up and disposed of
- Not disturb other guests or neighbors
